Luis was born and educated in Madrid, Spain.

He moved to United States and worked for Gulfstream Aerospace for 7 years as a cabinet maker. At that time he developed structural skills working side by side with engineers, machinists and sheet metal mechanics, also it gave him the opportunity to use exotic veneers and hardwoods from all over the world.

In 1999 he won first prize in the Association of Woodworking & Furniture with “Carmen” stool, made of Black Walnut, English Sycamore and Ebony.  In 2003 he decided to leave Gulfstream and to dedicate himself to his true passion, woodworking, dividing his time between designing and making his own pieces and to the restoration of Art & Crafts homes in Pasadena, California.

In 2004 he was again winner of the Furniture Design competition in Atlanta, Georgia, with his occasional chair “Fire”.

Presently, Luis continues designing and creating pieces of furniture for private clients and collectors.  Luis has learned many personal lessons by his spiritual communion with wood. He has great respect and deep admiration for the spirit of the trees.
