HISTORY, EXPERIENCE AND CAPABILITIES
Although
trained in ceramics, the medium of glass allows Angelina
Hall to create wall panels that are literally, painted with
glass. Angelina has been working with glass for the last
fifteen years and much of her work also includes glass
painting and etching, allowing the freedom to include text
and images on the glass itself.
Much of
Angelina's exhibition work concentrates on industrial
landscape and architecture. She is especially interested in
shape, pattern and texture that the composition creates. The
regeneration of Cardiff Bay and the iconic architecture of
its water front is of particular interest and features in
many of her pieces.
Angelina
has exhibited as far field as Jersey, and has a number of
key projects of note. A five panel panorama of Cardiff Bay
was commissioned for the new restaurant "Ffresh" at the
Wales Millennium Centre in Cardiff in January 2010. The
design depicts St David's Spa Hotel, Mermaid Quay, The WMC
and Pierhead Building, The Senydd and Norwegian Church.
Overall the piece measures 3.5 Metres in length.
Most
recently, Angelina has been working on the prizes for the
National Eisteddfod to be held in August 2010. The
Eisteddfod Committee wanted to commission some pieces of art
for the Welsh Learner of the Year and The Prose Competition
which would represent the cultural herritage and industrial
past of the area. The National Eisteddfod expects
approximately 160,000 visitors over the course of the week.
Although
much of Angelina's work to date has centered around Wales,
her work can translate to any type of landscape or area of
the country.
